Please note: "This opening was only for individuals and families who have a family member who:

• Is non-elderly (between ages 18 and 61), and
• Has a verifiable disability, and
• Is either experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness OR is transitioning out of an institution or segregated setting primarily for persons with disabilities".

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Non Elderly Disabled
  • Homeless
  • Households receiving supportive services with Aurora Mental Health, Atlantis Community or Developmental Pathways. Services will be verified with the provider.

  • FUP Graduates
    • Emancipated youth currently receiving housing assistance from AHA pursuant to HUD’s Family Unification Program (FUP) regulations effective 2009 or later, who as determined by the Aurora Housing Authority Family Services Case Manager, are in good standing, and are nearing the end of their participation in FUP and will graduate from the program who are referred to AHA by Arapahoe County Social Services.
  • Displaced by AHA
    • Displaced family—AHA-owned or AHA-managed housing as set forth in the Glossary.
  • Displaced by Other
    • Displaced family as set forth in the Glossary.
  • Resident
    • Families that, at the time of selection from the waiting list, reside anywhere in AHA’s jurisdiction, or include a member who works, or has been hired to work in the jurisdiction. Use of this preference will not have the purpose or effect of delaying or otherwise denying admission to the program based on the race, color, ethnic origin, gender, religion, disability, or age of any member of an applicant family
  • Elderly/Disabled
    • 62 years of age or older; or persons with disabilities as set forth in the Glossary
  • Working Families
    • A family where the head, spouse or sole member is employed
  • Transitional Housing Graduates
    • Graduates of transitional housing programs
  • Overcrowded Families Participating in the Mod Rehabilitation Program
    • Families who become over-housed, therefore in violation of HQS; and no correct size Moderate Rehabilitation unit is projected to be available for at least six months.
  • Veterans
