Open: Black Bear Apartments Project-Based

The Grand County Housing Authority (GCHA) is accepting waiting list applications for Black Bear Apartments from the earliest confirmed open date of May 18, 2023, until further notice.

To apply during the opening period, print the paper application.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be either:

Mailed to 612 Hemlock Street/PO Box 264 Hot Sulphur Springs, CO 80451.
Emailed to sdarland@co.grand.co.us
Faxed to (970) 725-3072

This waiting list has the following preferences: Families that were victims of the East Troublesome Fire (Applicant must provide a copy of the fully executed lease proving the selection of the above preference).

It is not yet known how selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

The Grand County Housing Authority (GCHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from May 24, 2023, until May 26, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

Print the paper application.
Pick up an application in person at GCHA office.
Call GCHA to request an application.

Once the paper application was completed, it was either;

Hand delivered to the GCHA office.
Emailed to GCHA.
Faxed to GCHA.
Postmarked and mailed to the GCHA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

Families that are experiencing homelessness
Families that include a person with a disability
Families that include victims of domestic violence
Non-elderly disabled families transitioning from nursing homes and other approved institutional settings into independent community based living.

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list.
