Closed: City of Burbank, California Section 8 Voucher

The Burbank Housing Authority (BHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for four weeks from January, 2016 until February 2016. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Burbank, CA is about 10 miles north of Los Angeles, CA.

Please note: This waiting list has preferences. This means that applicants who qualify for these preferences will receive assistance before applicants who do not. Because of these preferences, applicants who do not qualify may have a longer wait to receive assistance.

There were two ways to apply:

1. Complete the online pre-application.
2. Pick up a pre-application at one of several locations.

Once the paper pre-application was completed, it must have been mailed to the BHA. Pre-applications must have been postmarked by February 8, 2016, or it was not accepted. Pre-applications were not accepted by hand delivery at the BHA office.

The following preferences were identified: Live/work in Burbank, CA, displaced by government action, US military veterans, homeless, disabled.

Qualified applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

Important note: Applicants will receive a confirmation number when either applying, or being placed on the waiting list, depending on housing authority policy. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.

If any of your application information changes from the time you submitted the original pre-application (such as contact information, income, and household members), inform the housing authority immediately. In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Please contact the housing authority to find out its policy on updating pre-application information.

Closed: Heritage House, Studio and 1-Bedroom Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Burbank Housing Authority (BHA) last accepted Section 8 Project Based waiting list applications for Studio and 1-Bedroom apartments for Heritage House from the earliest confirmed open date of September 8, 2023, until September 26, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following property:

• Heritage House - located in Napa, California. Offering Studio and 1-bedroom units for Families, Farmworkers and Supportive Housing.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application that was available on the BHA website.

Preferences have not been confirmed.

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.
