Must be able to provide documentation from the referral agency upon request to qualify for this preference. If applicable, please check the box and attach agency referral. Homeless families who live with friends or relatives and who are not currently in the transition system are encouraged to apply without preference.
  • Local Residency
  • Veterans
    • Supporting veteran documentation will be required.

The Housing Authority of Maricopa County (HAMC) Emergency Housing Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications for referrals were last accepted from July 31, 2021, until the earliest confirmed close date of August 7, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to contact the Maricopa Continuum of Care (CoC) any of the Coordinated Entry Points listed on the public notice.

Please note: According to the HAMC, "In order to be eligible for an EHV, an individual or family must meet one of four eligibility categories:

  1. Homeless
  2. At risk of homelessness
  3. Fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking
  4. Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability."
