The City of Tucson Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open.

The DHCD is accepting applications for this waiting list from January 3, 2023 at 9:00 am MT, until further notice.

Please note: According to the DHCD, "All applications received as of January 24, 2023, will go through the first lottery process and will be randomly selected and placed on the waitlist based on the lottery selection. A monthly lottery will be done every month thereafter for placement on the waitlist."

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Families living or working/hired to work in the City of Tucson and/or Pima County.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences. The DHCD will have a new lottery selection every month after January 24, 2023.
