As of July 2017, the Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.
To apply, visit the JHA office to pick up a pre-application, located at 895 Gardner Dr SE # 100, Jacksonville, AL 36265, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am and from 1:30 am until 3:00 pm, and on Fridays from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am and from 1:30 am until 3:00 pm, and on Fridays from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. There must be a week in between when you picked up the pre-application to when you drop it off.
Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income.
The JHA does have a preference point system and the office staff will go over that with you when you apply.
